In 1986, I took a shot of the Four Star Theater on Wilshire Boulevard in L.A. And then, something strange happened….
I think a photo dating from when the house was built, alongside how it looks today makes for an interesting comparison.
I realized I had seen this Art Deco house before, in an ad for Insulux glass block.
Here we have two fine examples of Streamline Moderne, each sporting not one, but two cylinders.
This good thing about documenting things over many years is that you have a record of how they were. Sometimes, it’s a bad thing as well.
