Perhaps an early tribute to an Aztec god of Art Deco?
I thought this particular Art Deco motif was unique to a single building in Mexico City, but it isn’t.
Sometimes the best tool for the job is both smaller and lighter.

Colonia Condesa is a neighborhood like no other, roughly 275 Art Deco buildings in a few square miles.
The Palacio des Belles Arts is the #1 stop for Art Deco fans visiting Mexico City but there’s much more even within a reasonably short walk.
I’ve known about Mexico City’s Art Deco for years but I figured there wasn’t much left….
