Decopix Art Deco Patent of the Week – Lamp by A.J.D. Ohm

Ohm patent-60070

Who better than Mr. Ohm to design a light fixture? Actually, in this patent for the Beardsley Chandelier Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Albert Ohm was patenting a sort of clip-on lampshade. Not a bad idea, but what’s most interesting is the strongly angular Art Deco styling–which would all but disappear in the next few years as “modernistic” was replaced by Moderne.

For it’s very Deco design, this low maintenance sconce is our Art Deco Patent of the Week.
