Art Deco Disappearance – The Case of the Missing Gas Station

This tiny 76 Art Deco gas station once resided at 1301 Pacific in San Francisco. Nothing unusual about that, but for reasons unknown, it was picked up and moved…to a parking lot. It sat there for some time before going to ?  Solutions to this mystery are welcome.
